Equine-Assisted Learning & Presence-Based Coaching

A Steady, Experiential Path Toward Growth

Equine-Assisted Learning at Strong & Stable offers a trauma-informed, presence-based approach to growth and healing that combines facilitated interaction with horses and gentle coaching support.

This work is grounded in a simple belief: authentic strength unfolds when there is enough stability to move forward. Rather than focusing on performance, outcomes, or fixing what’s wrong, we begin by creating steadiness — supporting nervous-system regulation, awareness, and self-trust so clarity and meaningful change can emerge naturally.

A Presence-Based Approach with Horses

Equine-Assisted Learning pairs presence-based coaching with guided interaction alongside horses. Horses are naturally attuned to emotional states, energy, and boundaries. Their responses are immediate, honest, and non-judgmental, offering real-time feedback without words.

This creates a safe, reflective environment where insight arises through experience rather than analysis. Many people find this embodied approach especially supportive when navigating grief, burnout, trauma, identity change, or major life transitions — particularly when talk-based approaches feel limited.

How This Work Supports Growth

Through facilitated interaction with horses, clients often begin to:

  • Feel more grounded and emotionally regulated

  • Develop awareness of thoughts, emotions, and patterns of response

  • Practice clear, healthy boundaries in real time

  • Strengthen adaptability, confidence, and self-trust

  • Connect more authentically with themselves and others

The horse does not judge or interpret. Instead, it mirrors what is present, allowing clarity to emerge organically and at a pace that feels safe and respectful.

A Place to Return to Yourself

Equine-Assisted Learning is a journey of presence, reflection, and becoming.

Like working with a horse, you learn to:

  • stand with steadiness

  • navigate emotional and relational landscapes with awareness

  • return to yourself with clarity, confidence, and resilience

This experiential work offers a supported space to explore emotions, strengthen self-awareness, and develop the inner skills needed to move forward — grounded, resourced, and aligned.

Who This Work Is For

Who This Work Is For

Equine-Assisted Learning may be a good fit if you:

  • feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck

  • are navigating grief, burnout, trauma, or a significant transition

  • want to strengthen emotional regulation and embodied awareness

  • are curious about experiential or nature-based support

  • value slowing down and learning through presence rather than pressure

This work is also especially supportive for teenagers, offering a respectful, non-judgmental way to:

  • learn how to stand up for themselves

  • practice healthy boundaries

  • regulate strong emotions

  • build confidence and self-awareness

  • develop a stronger sense of agency and identity

Who It May Not Be For

Equine-Assisted Learning may not be the right fit if you:

  • are seeking quick fixes, directive advice, or structured programs

  • prefer a purely cognitive or goal-driven coaching approach

  • feel uncomfortable working outdoors or around animals

  • are not open to experiential or body-based learning

If this isn’t the right path, we can explore other options together.

How This Aligns with Other Strong & Stable Services

Equine-Assisted Learning reflects the same foundation as my presence-based 1:1 coaching and grief support work — stability first, so authentic strength can emerge.

Whether working with grief, life transitions, personal growth, or coaching development, the focus remains consistent: creating a safe, steady environment where clarity, agency, and meaningful forward movement become possible.

What Sessions Are Like

You don’t need prior experience with horses, and you don’t need to know exactly what you want to work on to begin.

Sessions are fully guided and shaped around your capacity, comfort, and nervous system.

We start with presence — noticing what’s here, grounding into the moment, and allowing insight and regulation to unfold through interaction rather than explanation.

There is no pressure to perform, share more than feels right, or move faster than your system allows.
